Paige Baker, tenor, is a longtime Northwest native. He sings with the Oregon Repertory Singers, Cappella Romana, Cantores in Ecclesias, Unistus and the Portland Baroque Orchestra. He has B.A. in Music and Education in voice and percussion from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and has done post-graduate work at the University of Portland with Roger Doyle. He has sung with Gil Seeley and the ORS for 31 years and in area churches for many years, including St. Mary's Cathedral with Angela Westhof Johnson and First Presbyterian Church with Lynn Loewi. He is a past vice president of the Alaska Jazz Society and music reviewer for the Anchorage Times. His musical history includes a large jazz contingent: Mt. Hood Community College with Hal Malcolm (the father of vocal jazz), undergraduate work at Central Washington University with John Moawad, Bert Christianson, and Bob Panerio and student teaching with Waldo Kingin Seattle (all of whom are the premier group of jazz musical educators in the world). He has judged jazz music festivals around the Northwest including those of Phil Mattson at Gonzaga University in Spokane and Jim Debussman in Eugene. He has a passion for Estonian music and has participated in Tallinn, Estonia in the largest choral gathering in the world: a choir of 28,000 for an audience of 250,000! ThisĀ  festival takes place every five years with the next one in July, 2009. He is an accomplished professional photographer and is a low-voltage contractor specializing in home theater, distributed audio and video, data and cable/satellite cabling in retrofit, remodeled and new construction homes. He lives in Beaverton, Or with his wife Helle, four cats, two birds and a hamster.
