Andrew Snyder, tenor, was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  He graduated from Reed College in 2007 with a degree in French Literature and History, writing his senior thesis on Symbolist poetry and its connections to the music of Debussy. He also studied at St. John's College and the Sorbonne in Paris.

A member of Cantores since 2005, Andrew is also a composer, pianist, and guitarist. He studies music with Virginia Hancock, David Schiff, Blake Applegate, Bonnie Garrett, and Craig Jones. He has also participated in music tours in Japan, Bulgaria, the Republic of Georgia, and, most recently in 2006, Prague with Dr. William Mahrt's St. Ann's Choir. After some more music preparation, both academic and performance, and a little time abroad in India, he plans to go to graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. in musicology.
